As a patient you are due information about the medication you have been prescribed.

Ask the doctor or prescribing nurse: Why did you choose this medication? Are there

alternatives? What benefits can I expect, and when? What side effects or long-term

problems might I have? What will it cost me? If your questions are dismissed, get out

and don’t go back.
